The Bearded Collie Health Committee  

The BCCA health committee first convened in 1986 under the leadership of Jill Farrington. The Bearded Collie was a healthy breed, but still there were some concerns, and we wanted to keep the breed healthy where some other breeds were in major health difficulties. This was the purpose of the health committee then, and it still is today.

Education is the primary purpose of the health committee. We aim to bring the membership information about health problems that affect beardies. These can be genetic problems to which beardies may be especially prone or general concerns, things that cause problems for all breeds of dogs.

The Health Committee is here for breeder and pet owner alike. If you have a problem or a question about beardie health, please contact one of the members of the health committee listed below. You can find contact information in the current BCCA roster.
